Getting around Perth

Navigating Perth using TransPerth, the city's public transportation system, is a convenient and efficient way to explore the metropolitan area and its surroundings. Here's a guide on how to get around Perth using TransPerth:

Perth's train system is a quick and reliable way to travel. Check the TransPerth website or app for the train timetable, routes, and station information.
Trains connect key areas such as the Perth CBD, Fremantle, Joondalup, Midland, and Armadale.

The extensive bus network covers suburban and regional areas. Consult the TransPerth website or app for detailed bus routes, schedules, and stops.
TransPerth buses serve areas not accessible by train, providing a comprehensive network for commuters.

Explore the Swan River by utilizing the TransPerth ferry services. These operate between Barrack Street Jetty, South Perth, and Rottnest Island.
Check the ferry schedules for a scenic and relaxing journey across the river.

Download the TransPerth app for real-time information on services, including bus and train arrival times, service disruptions, and route planning.
The app also allows you to top up your SmartRider card and provides a handy journey planner feature.

Perth's Free CAT (Central Area Transit) services are a fantastic way to explore the heart of the city without worrying about transportation costs. CAT buses are a network of free public transportation services designed to connect key areas within the central business district (CBD) of Perth. The CAT system operates with distinctive, easily recognizable buses in three different routes: Red CAT, Yellow CAT, and Blue CAT.

CAT buses run frequently, providing a convenient and reliable mode of transportation. This makes them ideal for both locals and visitors looking to explore the city at their own pace.  Access CAT bus timetables through the TransPerth website or app. Real-time tracking information allows you to plan your journey more efficiently, ensuring minimal waiting time at stops.
